FAQ
Common questions, plain answers.
- Is NoReply really anonymous?
- If you post anonymously, your name doesn't appear next to the post and other users can't trace it back to you.
- Can I post with my name?
- Yes. When you write a post, you can choose to post with your name or post anonymously. The default is anonymous.
- What can I post about?
- Anything you wanted to say to someone but didn't. The most common categories are career, relationships, business and investors, and friendships that ended quietly. There's no rule against other topics, as long as you follow the guidelines.
- What can't I post?
- Real names, contact info, screenshots of private messages, and other identifying details of the people you're writing about. Anything that's just an ad for your own thing. Anything covered by an NDA you've signed. The full guidelines have the complete list.
- Why would I want to share this?
- You don't have to. Some people find it helpful to put the words somewhere instead of keeping them in their head. Some people find it helpful to read other people's versions and feel less alone. If neither of those describes you, NoReply isn't for you, and that's fine.
- How is this different from Reddit or a regular forum?
- Reddit optimizes for engagement and debate. NoReply doesn't. There are no upvote-based feeds, no comment trees of arguments, no notifications begging you to come back. The whole product is shaped to be a place to put things down, not a place to get attention for them.
- Is there a mobile app?
- Not yet. The website works on phones - that's where most people read it from. A native app might come later if there's enough reason to build one.
- How do you make money?
- Right now: nothing. The site runs at a small loss out of the founder's pocket. A "Pro" tier is being designed for people who want to support the project; the free tier will always be enough to use NoReply fully.
- I saw a post that violates the guidelines.
- Email support@noreplyfeed.com with a link to the post and what's wrong with it. We read every report.
